I'm surprised we don't see more Canon owners unhappy that Canon have just launched 2 more cameras with that 4 year old sensor, why they don't seem to even want to compete with the Nikon and Sony DSL(R/T) they are up against.

I'm not overly pleased at the idea. I'm getting to the point where I could be in the market for an APS-C upgrade to my 600D - I shoot mainly wildlife - and while the 7D is a fine camera in many respects, the sensor is getting a bit long in the tooth and gives me little I don't get from the 600D. Hence I'm holding off the upgrade until Canon give me something I think is worth moving for.

FF is not an option due to the cost and the loss of range with longer, and not stupidly expensive, lenses.

Just curious, what lens(es) are you using to shoot wildlife?

The 70-200mm f4 L with 1.4x mk II. I have plans for either the 100-400mm or the 400mm f5.6L in the future but budget constraints are pushing that back...
