1) Judging by such shadows as we can see (not many) the light does not seem very soft, at all. In fact, it is a somewhat hard light. Indeed, having followed the link, a hard light is what I would expect to get from the device... being so small as it is.

-(In one dimension, that is, across it, it is actually smaller than the flash unmodified. In the other direction, along it, I would not expect it to be larger)-

2) Unfortunately your photograph also appears (a) somewhat underexposed (b) rather out of focus (when checked at 100%), and (c) lacking in any fill lighting ...

Other than that, it is a TRIUMPH!
