About OSS degrading image quality

That's interesting. I did a test with the original Sony 18-200 and came to the same conclusion. I photographed the top of a church tower several times at a range of exposures at 200mm using a heavy tripod and OSS on. I repeated the tests with OSS off. I could see no difference during careful comparison of all images at 100%. I still turn it off when using a tripod, but I don't worry about it too much if I forget or don't have time to turn it off.
