Adapter problem with manual zoom for Minolta MC
Apr 30, 2013

With this old Carl Zeiss Jena zoom, 75-300 mm, MC engraved:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350735930361?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

History and samples:

(on page 4 are links to samples raw files)

Adapter used:

http://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Adapter-Minolta-Rokkor-E-mount/dp/B003Y2YE62

The zoom was made by Sigma on license. It was also sold with Canon and Pentax mount. But this is engraved with MC.

The adapter looks right, but it actually can't lock (click to fix) and tested on Nex6 without fixing shows that infinity is not possible to focus with the long end of the zoom.

I have another cheaper adapter for MC/MD also, and the situation is the same.

The seller says that he tested focusing on (I think) some Minolta camera.

I have also looked at the chance to exchange the bajonet with another minolta mc lens. But they are quite different mechanics (45 mm and this 75-300mm compared).

Any advices what to do ? except buy a beercan instead.

Sony Alpha NEX-6
