It's not really "shadow noise", it's lack of dynamic range.  You can't underexpose something and lift in post 4 stops on the 5Dmk3.  So you should check the dynamic range figures before you drop another 2k$ on something to see if it's better, it won't be.  If you need 13 stops of DR all of the time, go buy a camera that can do that.  If you need 16 stops of DR all of the time...well....you are out of luck, start shooting HDR.
