I have the 6D and have used it with the 24-70 f2.8 MKII but I decided to keep the 24-70 F4 ( for my needs).

I did lots of test shots and comparison's and the 2.8 is the best but not my as much as you may think. Don't get carried away with the fact this is the ultimate lens.

If  you need the extra stop and  also the DOF then ok it may be worth an extra £700. However it's only sharper at the corners and in the centre it's hard to tell the difference unless you view at 100%

The 2.8 is sharper at 50mm and 70mm but the f4 is better at 24mm

The 24-70 f4 has IS which is great for me as I don't like carrying a tripod all the time, it also has an excellent macro mode.

However it's not much better than the 24-105,   If I was you I may consider keeping the 24-105 and buying more primes. That way you will see better images.

Just my view but it depends on your photographic neneeds good luck
