Discreet is the word in street photography.

I think an NEX series like the 6 works best with an fast prime like 35mm 1.8 OS. Of course with 10-18mm F4 OS tugged in small bag when the need arises for dramatic wide angle shots. Personally I have ruled out all toaster sized DSLRs as they attract too much attention. But that's my opinion.

Compact, light and portable. The three magic words.

What will the NEX 7n (or whatever it's called) offer? Can't wait.

I have the NEX 5N and I appreciated being discreet, but once I started using the 6D I gained a new confidence. Now, I no longer try and shoot discreetly; I just point my big camera at people and shoot sort of like Kai on DigitalRev. I prefer to just shoot with confidence over trying to sneak photos. When I act like I am there supposed to be taking photos then people seem to just ignore me, so I am more or less discreet out in the open.

That's true. But to catch those magic private moments, you have to be discreet... Unless you are shooting in a big festival or carnival when people let their hair down.   Whenever I go to a tucked away village in China, I try not to use my canon 1dx with a 70-200 2.8.  I like my NEX 6 ...
