I haven't been shooting RAW for to long but I was wondering which one of these would be best to go with?  I have Lightroom already since its a part of the Creative Cloud Suite, but how does it compare to Aperture for the X100S?

What would be suggested to learn more about Lightroom and Aperture and how to adjust the settings?

LR - best DR control, good all rounder, some odd artefacts (particularly at 100%)

Aperture - best results at 100% and seems a bit sharper at a pixel level with nicer colours, not so good with shadows and highlights.

Lightroom updated on a very regular basis (~18 months). Aperture - not so much.  Both are good tools. The one that will be best will be the one you pick. Can't go wrong with either.
