The first line of the article states....

"An RGB color space is any additive color space based on the RGB color model."

Note: It is NOT saying that "RGB" IS a colour space.

With my emphasis, and my additions, the line reads....

"An RGB color space is any additive color space based on the RGB color model" ... such as sRGB, AdobeRGB, ProPhotoRGB, likewise 10 or 15 other colour spaces using the same RGB model.

So it is that "RGB" (itself) is NOT a colour space. It is a method (mode) within which a colour space can be expressed.

This is like MPH is not a speed. MPH is a method (mode) of expressing a speed.

In this analogy sRGB may be compared with, say, 15-MPH, and AdobeRGB may be compared with 20-MPH....and ProPhotoRGB is, say, 30-MPH.

Does that make it any clearer for you? (sigh)
