Quick question about K5II magnification in picture review and live view
Apr 22, 2013

... just to be sure: The K5II (or K5 or K5IIs) offers 32 times magnification in picture review, but that clearly goes beyond pixel level; testing sharpness of some lenses today I got the impression that at 8 times magnification I'm sort of at a 100% per pixel view. Is this correct?

Or to put it another way: Is the 8 times review magnification the right magnification for checking sharpness of a taken pic (especially those taken with wide angle lenses - they tend to look awful at 32x magnifcation... )?

I'm a bit irritated because in liveview mode you get a maximum magnification of 6 times (with AF) or 10 times (with MF). So what is the real "100% magnification" on the K5II display?

Any info on that welcome. I think I read it somewhere, but can't put my finger on it ...

Phil
