Re: TV as a monitor?

Generally, computer monitors make better "monitors" than do TV sets, for two primary reasons.  First, most TV sets don't have a resolution exceeding 1920x1080, regardless of screen size.  Many 30" monitors have a resolution of 2560x1600, so you'll have a much higher resolution display (and higher dot pitch) with a monitor.  Secondly, many TV sets use TN panels, whereas the better monitors (ones aimed at photographers) use IPS or PVA panels, which have much wider viewing angles.
