DSLR Controller app.

Has anyone used this app with a long USB lead?  I'm wondering whether it could be used to control a camera from a hide or a car.  Would be used with a 7D and a Galaxy Note.

Also, I think I read in a review that the 7D switches off after a few minutes and that this cannot be changed.  A bit frustrating if you have been sitting quietly for several minutes and just when you subject is composing itself nicely the system powers down.

Would something like a Gigtube Wireless Viewfinder be better ( if a hell of a lot more expensive).
