Yes, this is one of the ways that manufacturers create artificial segmentation of the market - probably most or all "professional" cameras have had this for a number of years, but few "enthusiast" cameras. (I was referring to m4/3 cameras with my comment, should have made that clearer).

I wonder if the E-PL5 has it? If it doesn't, Olympus is using it as a way of marking the O-MD range as "professional", rather than offering a feature that many enthusiasts would find useful. In other words, its inclusion is to benefit them, not us.

It is possible also, that this is a relatively expensive feature to offer on cameras where it is unlikely to be used.
