The camera is an extension of the photographer.

Both are important and will influence final results.

When all emphasis is placed on the photographer, I get aversions to that logic.

A camera is a tool. A skilled craftsman needs good tools and tend to put a lot of money in it. But ever so good tools don't help you if you don't know how to use it. Same with photographers.

are good tools.

There isn't much difference.

It's like the difference between a red hammer and a blue hammer.

The skill of the photographer is going to be the difference.

That's my point as well. APS or m43 doesn't matter. In many cases not even FF. But if you are an ambitious photographer you need a good tool. You may want to get the best in each category  That means E-M5, D7100 or D800E I guess.

for most photographers that would be foolish.
