Update

I have cloned my 500mb C: drive to a unused 1tb internal drive and set this a my boot drive.

Completed several reboots, all on the day of the change over and no checkdisk.

Today, one day later, and upon first boot, checkdisk is running again.

The original C: drive is connected to a different computer and being scanned by SpinRite. So far no problems.

What could be causing checkdisk to run only once a day upon first boot?

Thanks, Floyd...

Newbie, having fun.

Sounds like checkdisk is scheduled to run on first boot of each day or something like that?

Google how to check for this and disable if is what is happening.

If this is what is happening then this this would have been cloned to the new driver as you are seeing.
