I agree with this. I have a service business that has nothing to do with photography. Many times when I'm on a job I'll see something that needs to be done that we didn't talk about or something is out of order and I'll fix it.

Sometimes I'll note it on the invoice sometimes I'll mention it in a phone call or email. Most times I'll get a phone call, email or there will be a note on the check or placed in the envelope thanking me or my crew.

Those freebies get me more business from repeat customers or their freinds/family/associates.

Sometimes it won't be acknowledged but it won't stop me from doing it. As long as I get a check in a timely fashion that really is all I need because that translates to living indoors and eating.
