Are you saying that aluminyzed prints are anodized prior to having the images printed?

They are not 'aluminyzed', they are prints on aluminium (or aluminum if you are in the US). There are various printing technologies used to put the print on the aluminium, some of which need a clean metal surface (non-anodized) with an inkjet receptive layer on top to take the inks, and then coating. Dye sub uses another technique. There are also non-aquaeous ink printers that can print directly on the aluminum surface.
