WHY would you want to use a product that reduces contrast and increases CA, when Instagram is free?

Because it allows you to use an APS-C camera effectively as a full frame camera.  It would be nice to be able to take that classic 50mm f/1.4 lens for Full Frame, and use it on APS-C and get effectively a 35mm f/0.93 lens as used on APS-C.

Sure, like a teleconverter, a telecompressor has issues.  You are using the entire full frame image circle now, and the telecompressor introduces some of its own aberrations, like extra distortion and some edge CA according to their graphs at metabones, but it also increases central resolution.

I suppose this question came up because it would allow using the FA 31, 43, and 77mm as full frame lenses as they were intended.
