First of all, Metz makes a FULLY Dedicated flash twice as powerful as the SB900,  (Metz 45CL-4 Digital), and if one knows what one is doing with a manual flash, or reflective auto sensored, the 60-series Metz is 4x more powerful than any Nikon SB.  But most "pro's" don't know this, or just want to stick a little flash in their hot shoe.

I also would point out that anyone doing weddings with a Canon & dedicated Canoflash is at a disadvantage anyway, compared to Nikon's iTTL/BL system.

So what?   That doesn't chage the fact the vast majority using Nikon and Canon dedicated flashes have no problem getting excellent results with them, even when limited to 1/200 sync speed.  Plus the metz flash bracket is not much better than pointing a speedlite in the hot shoe straight at the subject.  Most wedding and portrait photographers prefer to at the very least bounce the flash off a wall or ceiling but the ideal is to get it off camera and inside a soft box or other modifier when possible. See that's the advantage to that "little" flash.  You can preposition them around a room or have an assistant with one on stick so you can have nice, soft, directional, professional quality lighting even during a live event.  That said something like a that Metz flash bracket does have a place, but it is far from what most photographers would consider ideal and certainly not the end all and be all of flash.
