I have had an XS-1 for about 10 days.  Intend to keep it.  Lots of qualities I like..3 "c" settings on the dial, 2 programmable function buttons, RAW button, can customize viewfinder info, outstanding colors...It feels and looks like a quality product.  Had an HS50 for a short time,  got it on a Fri about 5pm,  took several pictures with it and my HS30 side-by-side Fri and Sat.  Boxed up the 50 Sat nite and shipped it back on Mon.  Not a fair test but too many things I didn't like.. Q-button/menu system, rough manual zoom, SD card door opened 3 times while I was shooting (MY HS10 & 30 have never done that), not many images exceeded/matched what I get from the HS30. I use the zoom(continuous)  feature so I was comparing magnified images shot in closely matching conditions in near real time.  So the 50 is gone, the XS-1 made me forget it very quickly.
