I just was lookin' for new all-round body to complement D300s with zooms and found myself catched by D4. While D4 just twice over I can spend to gear in 1 year, my choice for this year was D7100 + AFS28 f/1.8 as a prime lens. And I will add grip later.

If take more perspective my camera of choice would be rumored D4x with colors and body of D4 and resolution of D800. Of course it is my budget solution but with new camera we must add speed card and 2 additional batteries at least. And grip is obligatory for me because I've got broken wrist and can't hold camera without grip reasonable time.

Another reason is purpose of camera, pattern of its usage. I prefer not to mood for shooting all time but be ready to shoot any minute. I'm not a full-time pro but ready for occasional work.

I can't describe literally why I don't like D800/D600, just this bodies don't catch me as d4 do.
