Hi folks, I have an update for you all

Firstly thanks for the condolences and support, they were needed!

The insurance company has finally admitted that they are responsible and that the items are covered. I had to demand that they recovered all calls relating to this policy including when i originally took it out and they agreed when they had done this that I had purchased all risks and that they needed to pay Not an easy argument, but I refused to give up and they had to accede to my demands - the key was not to get angry, let them say their bit then carefully debunk what they were saying - they were left with no choice but to listen to all tapes.

The repair is £935 for the camera (though Nikon initially quoted £1400 until I pointed out that they could only use one of any items one camera ;)) and the lens repair is only £132!

The lens looked a right of, whereas the camera looked like minor damage.

All's well that ends well.
