Hi Massimo,

indeed this is very true. However, the Bayer interpolation has inevitably a micro-contrast reducing effect "by design", so to speak, compared to the Foveon.

I haven't tried the Zeiss 21 f2.8 on the D800E, but I own the best of the Nikkors: still, after using the DPx Merrill and seeing the results they produce - and with Sigma lenses, not glass of the Zeiss or Leica kind...! - Sigma got my attention and I started seeing if I could get that kind of IQ on a DSLR...
