Wonderful stuff computers these days.  After a few ‘funny’ performance issues, mine actually messaged me on screen that my HDD was about to fail!

My choice was to buy a Seagate Momentus hybrid drive, and cloned to that using the free Macrium Reflect software. It all went like a dream even though I cannot remember exactly my step by step procedure to assist you. What I can say is that the hybrid speeded up my aging HP HDX18 1103EA with Win 7, and it seems to be performing better now that the day I bought it a few years ago. So you may wish to consider a hybrid rather than a standard drive, or the expense of SSD.
