Hi,Paul.
Well, I have to concur, the 450D was my first DSLR, and I must say I was very disappointed with its exposure. Moreso the ambient light exposure than flash. The Omd is miles ahead go this regard.
The thing is, I then used an old 350d which worked much better. After that, a 30d, a 40d, 50d and finally 600d, all of which worked much better than the 450d.
I think this camera was faulty in that regard, and curiously, the fault was never acknowledged officially or by the community. No single professional tester ever talked about the issue.
This kind of scenario will probably happen with the Olympus flash underexposure as well. Certainly with a community of blind followers that never used anything else and that only swear by their beloved brand.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it ,they say. Well, Olympus, it is broken, so fix it.
