Hard drive dying?
Apr 14, 2013

I generally boot my Windows 7 Professional x64 computer once every morning.

During the last three boots Windows runs checkdisk. So far upon completion Windows starts.

I am afraid this is an indication of an eminent hard drive failure, would you agree?

I have a 1TB internal drive that is empty and I am wondering if I should clone my C: drive to this internal drive and set it to be my system boot drive. The current C: drive is 500MB.

If this is a good plan, how should I go about making the swap. I have never cloned a drive or changed the order of boot drives. I am able to follow instructions and would be willing to purchase any cloning software as it is probably a good idea to have a bootable copy of my system drive.

What should I do?
