Yeah. You can't kill good ergonomics to those enthusiasts / pros that want it and need it. I definitely see the SLR/DSLR shape living well beyond the mirror box.

Couldn't agree more. The current MILC forms are a disaster ergonomically for extended periods of shooting.

Actually, the current MILC form (for most part) follows the film SLR form more whereas the DSLR form we speak of gained popularity in the 90s. This image demonstrates that.

Except that they are even smaller than the film 35mm's typically were. However, even if you are right it still doesn't change anything. 35mm film cameras were MUCH worse ergonomically than today's dSLR's are. I'm not sure if you're old enough to have had occasion to use 35mm film camera for hours at a time but if you are you're probably well aware of that fact.
