The day will come when a mirror box no longer provides any functionality that can not be achieved in a smaller/simpler/faster/better way. This is the inevitable march of progress. On-sensor PDAF systems will get faster. EVFs will get better. Etc. Etc. Now all of this might take a bit longer to come to fruition than some of us would (or wouldn't) like, but it will happen. I suspect, though, that the SLR/DSLR form factor will stick around for much longer than the actual mirror box. There's a reason the GH3 is designed to look like a mini-DSLR.
