Actually, none of those were required. A change in your LOCATION was required. In other words, you've just shown the limitations of you, not of the camera.

At this stage I don't think any FF DSLR has a fast focussing live view mode? I could be wrong, so feel free to correct me.

The a99 is an SLT but it does.

If I changed location then it wouldn't be the same photo, duh.

I take it you've never photograph in places where you're constrained by location.

I can't decide whether its a case of moving the goalposts, special pleading, or just plain stupid.

So now your going to post a photo of a person in the dark. I think I'll just change location to the well lit side of the person and take the photo from here. There you go, same photo, by your criteria. Or, if we can change the location, perhaps we can change the light, or time and wait till midday.
