I actually created my pan out of 5 images and stitched them in Microsoft ICE. I don't use in built in pano function at all tbh. I find taking 4-5 quick snaps in succession gives me much more flexibility than the sweep pano. I end up making a large uncompressed TIFF image that I edit in Lightroom. It works very well.
