It's all up to the operator

I want a camera that accurately captures the stuff I see without needing in-camera added fluff options or requiring post-processing editing. I see alot of heavily edited images here and thats not photography to me. Its bogus Photoshop editing.

Is digital photography now a "fix it later" thing and then enhance it?

Is it too much to ask camera makers to just make a camera do what its supposed to do without having to turn off a bunch of un-needed functions?

We don't need 573 focus/metering points!

Anyone that feels this way with the array of choices we have today probably should take some time to understand the tools better, and what's practical to expect from them with and w/o additional intervention.    Most cameras have modes that one can make as simplistic as one needs it to be.   In the end it's not about the camera, but the operator.
