Would the 17-55 2.8 be too heavy for a D5200?
Apr 10, 2013

I purchased this lens last weekend, heavy as hell lens, but freaking awesome.  I don't think Sigma or Tamron can compare to its built and IQ.  I'm impressed.  Do any of you put this lens on a camera such as a D5200 or any other lower end model??   I am simply afraid that the damm lens will just break the mount of those cameras and fall off.  Currently i just don't have the money for the D7100 so i am still shopping around for other options.  Unless i wait more than six months more or less i might just be able to afford it, but certainly not at this point.

Also, as of 2013 would i just be wasting this lens capability/resolution if i get a camera lower than 24MP, such as a D90 for example?  I am going to think that you will say get a 24MP!

Thank you.
