Thats been my point all along, if you look at the farthest objects in a photo the resolution advantage of D800 is clearly visible, and not by a small margin if you ask me.  If you look at the wire lines you can make out the detail from the D800 but you don't see that in a 5DIII. No, I'm not interested in bashing 5DIII, it is a matter of fact, that D800 has a clear resolution advantage and it shows.  I've seen it over and over in landscape shots when you examine tree branches of the farthest objects.

How does this resolution translate then?  Well,you can crop more, or you can print larger...or if you're a stock photographer, the bigger the resolution the more revenue. Thats all.
