Why do the DPR RAW photographic tests not reflect the actual performance of these cameras in your opinion? Is there something specifically wrong with the way DPR tests these cameras?

If you go to the RAW comparison page for any camera that shoots raw and select the 6D, 5DIII, D800E, and 645D, you can see a (pretty much) linear increase in resolving power across those cameras. The nose and eyes of the elderly woman on the bank note are good points of reference assuming similar focus (it's nearer the centre of the frame, so lens deficiencies are less likely to impact the result).

What's the point of the article linked to in the OP? That bad lenses can spoil the high resolution party? Well, DUH!

I really can't see the point of debating sensor resolution. A given sensor either does what you want it to, or not. People are reaching for a conclusion, but there is no conclusion to reach. Can you get more resolution from a higher resolution camera? Again.... DUH! Do you need it? That's up to you.
