Well, as I said, there IS a difference but not huge. And as I mentioned I have only one lens at the moment for the N800E, the 70-200 f/2.8VRII and I have compared to the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II and the 24-70 f/2.8L II and the D800E beats both in resolution (same FOV!!) but not with a lot of margin and you would have to print large to see it. It's not the reason I got the D800E btw.

with your lovely nature pictures Im 100% sure it is because of the much better DR and no banding in d800 + better resolution .

In fact not the primary reason. The reason is to better serve my workshop clients to get the best results from their Nikon cameras and in particular the D800(E).

It is fine with the marginal extra resolution and the DR is appreciated, but in fact I have no problem shooting with my Canons for landscape photography in the style I use. And please don't post any more resolution and banding shots. I do have both cameras and have eyes to see the results
