Software suggestion(s) for culling through massive amount of photos
Apr 8, 2013

Hi everyone!

I have a lot of photos on the computer (over 120 GB, all JPGs going back years, so most of them are smaller than modern cameras shoot. Mostly all snapshots and family things, but many doubles and things not worth keeping. About 29,000 files in all). I want to clean them up and preserve only what is truly a "keeper."

I would like to preserve the current folder structure as they are ordered by time which is helpful when trying to find things.

I would like to positively pick things like I do in Lightroom with current photos I takes. That is, I'd like to be able to mark certain photos as "keepers" and the rest get deleted. I'll be deleting far more than I'll be saving so this method would be far faster than indicating individual files to be deleted.

Any suggestions on (a) program(s) to use?

Thanks!
