i can't do the math. i'm new to digital imaging.

36MP and 1080HD files are large.

that i know.

i'm trying to figure this out.

1TB hard drive gives you 1/1.024^4=0.909 TB of usable space.

If the average size of a 14-bit lossless RAW file is 31MB then a single 1TB hard drive can store about

0.909*1024^2/31=30763

photos.

You do not necessarily need a RAID configuration, but you DO need a means of backup.
