mystery landscapes
In reply to Rriley, Apr 7, 2013

I am still processing the many photos I took in a recent trip to the Utah parks. I'd read a lot before going, and shot all the normal "monuments,", ruins, arches, fins, and stuff. But on the way in and out of Canyonlands I found some strange landscapes that I had never seen anything like. I had no idea what these areas were, or how to shoot them, and now I find that I don't know how to process them either. I just know they stunned me, and I want to go back and see more of them. I've researched a little and I believe they are called badlands. They are more muted colors than the other surrounding areas. I'll be fooling with them over the next few weeks so maybe someone can suggest any better ways to process/present them.
