Re: focus point in Amaryllis photo?
In reply to CAcreeks, Apr 7, 2013

These flowers were bequeathed to us by the previous owner, pop up each year at this time from bulbs left in the ground.  She referred to them as antique, meaning I assume this particular variety of Amaryllis is no longer generally available.  They are a real treat for the two weeks or so that they flower.  The deer consider them a treat, so I frequently spray them with repellant, otherwise the buds are nipped off before they bloom.

The reason I'm skeptical wrt to the camera's record of the focus point is I had the pistil centered in the frame when I half-pressed the shutter button, before re-composing the image.  So I would assume the pixel location is recorded before the final camera shift.
