Some Zeiss 135mm on D800E samples...slightly large files
Apr 6, 2013

Hey all. Yesterday I was lucky to receive my Zeiss 135mm f2 I ordered the lens in mid March and was told it could be a couple of months so was very surprised when my dealer told me it had arrived.

This is my first Zeiss lens was going to buy the 100mm but when this was announced went with it. Initial observations, the lens is nice and chunky and with a good weight. Loved the feel of the cold metal when I first touched it.

A couple of things I didn't like and that's the lens cap and the aperture ring which feels a but flimsy.

Today I took it to work and took a few shots. All with the Nikon D800E Converted with Lightroom 4.4, sharpening set to 0 and no PP done.

I bought this lens to use for headshots in studio and will use it on Sunday in that scenario.

So far I'm happy with it, I'm not very good at manual focus so will work on that.

Pics below, if anyone wants the RAW files let me know and I'll upload them

f2.0 iso 56 1/160s

f2.8 iso140 1/160/s

f4.5 iso 400 1/160

f2.0 iso100 1/320s

f8.0 iso 320 1/200s

f2.0 iso 100 1/6400s

f2.0 iso 100 1/6400s

f2.0 iso 125 1/6400s

f2.0 iso 250 1/160s

Thanks for looking.

Regards Bud
