TBH, few f2.8 lenses are at their sharpest at 2.8!

It's more about being able to get decent shutter speeds indoors during the day without resorting to intrusive flash and/or about limiting DOF for me.

Of course it also facilitates available light images in places like night markets etc when on the road.

I've never really understood why anyone would buy anything slower than 2.8.
