LR4 and picture rendering issue & general slowness
Apr 5, 2013

I just upgraded to LR4.4 from LR3.6.

In LR3.6, when I'd scroll through photos in Loupe view, they would be fully rendered.  In LR4.4, it seems that pictures only partially render.  I often have to zoom in and zoom out to have the photos fully render.  Doing so, the "Loading..." icon appears at the  bottom of the image, and it fully renders, looking much sharper.

Why does it do that?  Is there a way to change it?

Also, LR4 runs noticeable slower that LR3.  I'm running a Core i7 950 @ 4Ghz with 12Gb RAM and an nvidia GTX680, all from an SSD.  It shouldn't be sluggish.  Importing is quick, scrolling through photos is quick.  But, image rendering is slower than in LR3.

Thanks for sharing your tips and suggestions.
