Isn't that the whole point of the article? That you have to look at the system body/lens, and that when you do that, the difference is less than what is generally assumed?

Especially when you compare systems with many lenses on either body.

You are correct. I was focused on a small section of the article. A couple of my point still stand: not a fair fight when the 24-70 II is involved and test these systems with the same lens.  This article should not be misconstrued by newbies that the D800 doesn't have more raw resolving power all other things being equal (which of cousre they are not a lot of the time).
