Here's what I used to calibrate the monitor brightness;

I have an Asus Proart Pa246Q. Supposedly you can't calibrate the colors but it is set to adobe RGB 1988 (or is it 1998?). I'm not sure calibration software will work with it. It works almost as well as my old style monitor which died. Colors seem fine.

The printer didn't work well with my old computer and old monitor either- too dark. Used up almost a whole cart of photo black with ONE 13 x 19 print too.
