dropped tamron 70-200... $380 repair bill
Apr 3, 2013

I have the old tamron 70-200(not the new VC one), and dropped it several months ago. It tweaked the barrel, the focus ring became very tight, and eventually an element shifted and focus was impossible.

Sent to tamron, it's $380 to fix. Ouch. The lens can be bought new for $769.

Such a bummer. Almost wonder if it's worth it. Probably is, but I throw around the idea of getting a nikon 70-200 f4 instead. Used one while it was being repaired, and it's a fantastic lens.

Thoughts?
