You say that like it's a bad thing.

This is despite the Canon/Nikon lenses having built in IS.

So does the 35-100 f/2.8

At least it is lighter.

Less than half the weight of the Nikon, a hair over half the weight of the Canon.

It's possible that you have not read, understood and/or internalized the information communicated in the OP.
