That's a pretty jumbo sized soft release. I use a smaller one with a diameter that is slightly smaller than the on/off switch. I screwed it on tight using a kneaded rubber eraser to get a good grip. It's on tight and never had an issue although I'm not rubbing it every time I turn my camera off or on. Otherwise I'd go with the Loctite suggestion. I've used the stuff before, but not on a camera. It does what it says, but I'd still not want to put any on my camera. If you do use it, use very little. I wouldn't want anything dripping down into by shutter button.
