How can I tell if my lenses are DX or FX?
Apr 2, 2013

Forgive me for what is undoubtedly a simple question, but I was given some lenses that my father had bought for use on his D100, and I'm curious if they will work on an FX camera without activating crop mode.  My understanding is that Nikon puts 'DX' in the name of their lenses (like my 40mm), but I'm not sure about 3rd party lenses.  Also, since there are newer versions out of these lenses, it makes it hard to search for them and be sure I'm finding info on the right ones.  All are screw driven and work well on my D300.

There are the lenses in question:

Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 Aspherical IF EX Tamron SP AF Aspherical XR Di LD 28-75mm f/2.8 A09  Tamron AF Aspherical XR LD IF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 A06
Thanks for any info.
