I have the (similar) Nikon 1 V1 and while it's good (in good light) I wish I could say it was faster than my (similar?) D5100, but it's about on par in good light. In low light, the DSLR wins by a huge margin, as you know.

Lenses can make a huge difference to your AF speeds as well as different AF settings in the cam. Slower lenses or settings can make the cam struggle.
