Are Macs better than PCs for photography work? If so, why?

Ugh. Not another of these HOPELESS arguments!

All of the major editing softwares are available on Mac and PC.

The OS is down to personal preference, I prefer windows due to its user-friendliness and ability to run on sh*t computers.

In a $1000 MacBook you get a dual-core intel, 4GB of RAM, and no discrete GPU. With a windows pc for the same price you can get a quad-core i5, 8GB of ram, and a mid-range GPU (AMD 7870, Nvidia 660)

In short, windows has better hardware and runs smoother, and mac looks pretty. Which one do you want?
